The Peninsula is one of Noosa’s most exclusive canal side streets, with this house arguably on the best lot with views centered on Seahorse Park and Seahorse bridge. The focus of this house is the canal front and it’s stunning views, with rear rooms and entry focused towards the new resort style pool.
The existing house was a mid-90’s single storey block home with a very plain hint towards plantation style. Useless front steps and very low window/door head heights meant that the view wasn’t visible for most of the property, not visible until the front two rooms. Due to the angle of the side boundary, the master bedroom taped inwards and blocked much of the view from the main living area and alfresco.
Working very closely with the clients who head Gimelli Design, the house has been opened up with largers doors/windows, higher ceilings and an additional level to take full advantage of the views. The original footprint of the home is still visible, but the existing bedrooms have been re-arranged to feature ensuites and large robes, with their sleeping areas centered on views of the canal and pool. The existing garage is extended and feeds into the oversized mud room, laundry, butlers pantry and kitchen. A grand staircase and central void emphasise the sense of space further, and lead to a media room, 2 additional bedrooms with jack-and-jill ensuite, and a huge master suite that takes up an entire wing of the house.
Every room and space is perfected proportioned, symmetrical and features a balcony or alfresco area that extends the room to the outside. Even side rooms take advantage of the space on the side setbacks, with feature gardens, bench seating and water features throughout. A large resort style pool and water pond hugs the entry hall and pool pavilion, and extends through the middle of the house. In true Hampton style each window and door features timber glazing bars, feature moldings and sills, and most feature transom windows overhead.
