Existing house lifted and renovation
The clients for this small character house in Stafford were investors wanting to renovate and sell, so the brief was to create an affordable renovation that would appeal to a wide range of people rather than being client specific. It was important to keep the character of the home which featured a prominent bay window and steeply pitched hip roof.
The design is a mix of queenslander and hamptons styles, with multiple alfresco areas at the front, rear and upper level, glazing bars on the windows and timber balustrading. The front design added a ground floor patio and upper level balcony which provides a panoramic view over the city and northern suburbs. The bay window upstairs is accentuated provides and additional retreat.
The house has 4 bedrooms, with the ground level bedroom acting as a second master with it’s own ensuite for relatives or older couples. The master upstairs is very generous and features a huge walk-in robe and ensuite with free standing bath and double shower.
The slope of the site dictated that the garage is stepped down to ground level, while the rest of the house sits up higher to provide a seamless transition to a level backyard and pool. The yard is complimented by an additional pool house. Build and interiors by Investwell Group Builders.
