Jacaranda House Case Study
Xact Accounting House of the Year Award & ABI Interiors Individual Home over $3 million Award 2023 for Corella Construction

Overview
The clients wanted a home that captured the timeless charm of Hamptons and New England style, blended with the coastal feel of Brisbane. Invilla adapted this international design influence to suit the subtropical climate and local context.
The goal was to capture the essence of the Hamptons/New England style while harmonising with the subtropical climate and vibrant surroundings.

Process
The clients had a vision of blending timeless design elements into their project. By integrating authentic shingle cladding and tiles sourced from America, the design pays homage to a rich heritage. The house cleverly maximises the width of the block to take full advantage of the stunning riverfront view.
Designing an authentic Hamptons/New England-style home in Brisbane came with unique challenges. Balancing tradition with sustainability and navigating local building codes required creative, site-specific solutions.

Approach
From the moment you arrive, the residence feels grand and private. A long driveway passes the tennis court and pavilion before revealing the expansive 57-metre facade. Dorma windows, extended patios, and glazed gable ends create a balanced array, framing the property's Jacaranda trees and capturing the allure of the Hamptons and New England style in Brisbane.
Upon entering through the pastel-blue double doors, guests are greeted by a double-height pitched ceiling adorned with a glass chandelier. A captivating feature garden is framed by a colossal picture window, offering a view of the pool and river beyond.
Exploring further, the house reveals a quad garage, laundry and mudroom, guest bedrooms, a bunk room, and children's rooms. Upstairs, the layout includes an office and guest suite.
The heart of the home features formal dining, open-plan living, and a kitchen with a breakfast nook. An exposed rafter ceiling, VJ ceilings, and intricate joinery lend an air of timeless elegance. The kitchen is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, showcasing a commitment to excellence.

The residence seamlessly accommodates casual and formal living areas, featuring a fireplace and a vast alfresco space with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace. An 18-meter-long pool and lush lawns leading to the river create a picturesque oasis.
The master bedroom includes a walk-in robe, nursery room, and en-suite with a Victoria and Albert bath offering views of the Jacarandas. Additional spaces include a rumpus room, bar, and cinema area for immersive entertainment. The subterranean level offers a gym, sauna, and an external ice bath for wellness and rejuvenation.
