How Our Fees Work

Fixed fees, agreed before we start

Do you offer fixed pricing or charge hourly?: Most of our services are offered as a fixed fee, clearly outlined by stage in your design agreement. If scope changes or additional services are needed, we'll always provide a variation or hourly estimate before proceeding.
Can we build in stages or work to a set budget?: Yes. We'll help shape your design around your budget and long-term plan, whether you're building in one go or looking at a staged approach. Early clarity helps us avoid costly surprises later.
Will I get 3D drawings of the design?: Yes. We include unrendered 3D perspectives during concept stages to help you visualise the design. High-quality renders are also available as an optional extra if you'd like a more lifelike view of the proposed spaces.
Is hiring an architect worth it?: For a custom home or a significant renovation, we believe so. An architect designs for your block, orientation and lifestyle rather than adapting a stock plan, and detailed documentation lets builders price accurately, so you see fewer variations and surprises on site. A well-resolved design also tends to repay its fee over the life of the home through buildability, liveability and lasting value.
Is a draftsman cheaper than an architect?: Usually, yes, on the upfront fee. A draftsman produces drawings for approval; an architect designs for the site and then documents the build in far more detail, which is what lets builders price accurately and keeps variations down during construction. On a custom home or a significant renovation, the gap in documentation quality often costs more on site than it saved in fees.
