Royston St

Royston House sits high on a sloping Brookfield block, and the design keeps the arrival calm so the view is saved for inside. From the street, a low run of white gabled forms sits behind stone gate walls. Step through the front door and the land falls away, with the home opening over two levels toward the treetops. Raked ceilings follow the roofline above living spaces that line the view, and a glass-walled courtyard draws daylight into the centre of the plan. Outside, the slope becomes a sequence of outdoor rooms, from the deck down to the pool. Invilla designed the interiors alongside the architecture, keeping to a restrained palette of white, pale oak, black-framed glazing and brushed brass.
