Camp Hill is where Invilla has designed more homes than any other suburb: nine and counting, from knock down rebuilds on post-war blocks to the Home Beautiful cover home on Mcilwraith Street. Our studio is ten minutes away in Morningside, and our fees are fixed and agreed before design begins.

Streets rise and fall, blocks step across their width, and many back yards sit a full storey above or below the house. That slope is the suburb's best asset and its most common design trap: handled early, it buys you city glimpses, breezes and a split-level plan with real character; ignored, it turns up later as retaining walls and earthworks that eat the budget.
The housing stock is a mix. Older streets carry interwar timber homes, some protected by the traditional building character overlay, while much of the suburb is post-war weatherboard and brick built in the forties and fifties. Those post-war houses sit on generous blocks and are usually not protected, which is why Camp Hill has become one of Brisbane's busiest knock down rebuild markets. Whether your house is worth keeping is a genuine question here, and we work through it honestly. Our guide to knock down rebuild versus renovation is a good place to start.
We know Camp Hill block by block because we keep building here. Akala House and The Promenade are ground-up custom homes designed for sloping sites. The Mcilwraith Hamptons appeared on the cover of Home Beautiful. Alethea, Errey Street, Prout Street, Brisbane Avenue and the Orwell houses round out a portfolio that runs from family homes to small multi-residential projects. Each one started with the same discipline: read the slope, read the overlays, then design the house the block actually wants.
Every project begins with a conversation and a fixed-price fee proposal, so you know your design investment before anything is drawn. Because the studio is in Morningside, site visits in Camp Hill are easy to arrange at short notice, and we already know the streets, the soil and the council conditions that shape what you can build.
